Our System Is Now Perfected... I think

First of all, I have to say THANK YOU so much to my friends who were so kind as to take their time outlining their systems for me and also Rachel, who gave me an awesome new idea!! I am SO excited about this and boy you should see Emma. She's super duper excited. I have never in my life seen a kid so anxious to "help" around the house. She's been this way her whole life. I should've started this chore chart thing A LONG time ago.

Here is Emma's final Chart...

Emma's Chore Chart

Feed Pepper

Keep Room Clean

Dishes to sink after Meals

Pick up Toys

Take out Trash and Recycling

Do Homework

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

Noah's final Chart... I added in Use the Potty and made the space large so he can get a sticker each time he uses the potty each day. Hopefully this will aid in his potty training...

Noah's Chore Chart

Put Clothes in Hamper

Don’t hit Sissy

Brush Teeth

Pick up Toys

Use the Potty

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

And THIS was Rachel's BRILLIANT idea. The EXTRA chart of jobs that Emma or Noah can do to earn even more stars, which equals more money they can earn.

EXTRA CHORE CHART

Empty all small trashcans

Make Bed

Put Toilet Paper in Bathrooms

Laundry Baskets

Collect Dirty Towels to Laundry

Take all stray shoes to Laundry

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

I decided that instead of doing a set allowance to do the star system that Rachel also suggested, that way it's up to them how much money they earn each week.

10 Stars = $1

I think this is very fair, because it ends up that each chore is worth 10 cents, which is pretty cheap if you ask me. I think that as Emma gets older and she's more proficient at doing each job, this will change somewhat and I also know that I'll change the chores around and add and subtract new jobs or what not as they get older, but for right now, this is perfect in my eyes.

It teaches them responsibility not only with money, but with taking care of their house and learning how to be helpful. The last thing I want is a houseful of lazy, irresponsible teenagers in ten years. Hopefully this will aid in that endeavor. ;)

And if anyone has any further suggestions or ideas, I am ALWAYS open and ready to make things even better, so lay them on me!! :)

you are too cute! I don't know if it was BRILLIANCE on my part, but just passing on what might work! lol :) I am glad it is something that will be a go for you! I think you've outlined some great jobs that are appropriate for each child--and you're right, once you give it a while, you can always change things--whether it be the amount or the chores or whatever. But this is the perfect start!

nice gives me some ideas on how to do mine. Any ideas on how to get them to do it themselves rather than me helping them do it?

love it!!! I wish I was more persistent with my chore chart...uughhh!! lol
B-Blogit has a very good question...bc that's exactly my problem..unless I'm standing over them dictating, they won't do much of anything..except the oldest...any ideas to help with that...and when the middle one completes the simplest of tasks, says can we got to the store for a toy now..umm NO!!! LOL so any ideas!!??!???

i need to do this. but Taylor would be the only one that has one... and he'd probably cry and forget to use the potty on his own. :)

love it!
