As I mentioned in my post on New Year's Day, I read 56 books in 2010.
That's a lot of books, but reading, books, and writing happen to be three of my very favorite things/activites/hobbies on the planet. Each book I read holds a special place in my heart, but the ones I read that upon finishing them make me clutch them to my chest with tears stinging my eyes hold a very special place. Those books may or may not also get a little kiss before they find their permanent home on my bookshelf.
These... my favorites... I also have a very difficult time loaning out, because when they're not in my eyesight, I almost feel a little short of breath. Yes. Really.
Okay, now that I've confessed those little secrets, here are my very very very favorites from 2010. You should read them. Really. You should. And if you already have, please tell me what you also love about these. If you didn't love them, though, please don't tell me. It might break my heart a little. ;)

Still Alice:: The amazing story of a wonderful woman, Alice, who is struck with Alzheimer's. This is the story of what it does to her and her life.

Her Fearful Symmetry:: This is the author who wrote The Time Traveller's Wife. This story is quite quirky, but I really liked it.

The Nanny Diaries:: I loved for many reasons, one of them being that it takes place in NYC. My favorite place on earth. It also has a sequel, which I loved also.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter:: An amazing, heartbreaking story about a woman who loses a child and... well, I won't tell you more, it would RUIN the story!

Water for Elephants:: Just read it. Just do it. Amazingness!!!!

The Glass Castle:: My mouth was gaping open in astonishment the majority of this story.

Girl in Translation:: Freakin awesome!

Hunger Games:: Loved it and never thought I would. The second one, Catching Fire, is equally amazing.

The Help:: One of my top ten of all time.

One Day:: Loved it to absolute death.

Sarah's Key:: Takes place during the Holocaust and I pretty much love anything about that period of history. It was amazing and so so very heartbreaking.

Wench:: Love, love it.

Columbine:: Just an incredible account of this horrible, tragic event.

The Art... :: Awesome!!!!

The Lonely Polygamist:: This is the most recent book that I've finished. If you have EVER been curious about how and why a select group of people choose to live this lifestyle, this book will entertain you to no end. I could not hardly put it down. The writer's style is so engrossing and you really just feel as if you are THERE. It's awesome.
** Now, I didn't comment on every single one of those books, because well, I just didn't have anything to say at that moment. ;) These were my very favorites from all that I read the whole year, though, so if you are currently looking for something awesome to read. Any or all of these would fit the bill!
Enjoy!
