Sometimes I have a hard time getting the motivation up to give my kids baths. You know.. those days when it's raining outside, so you do absolutely nothing all day but eat, sleep, and watch tv. Why bathe? Nobody's dirty...
So, when I start feeling like that, I take the kids outside and get them REALLY dirty.
THEN I have a reason to bathe them...
So, this evening, when the rain paused and there was a glimmer of orange on the horizon, we threw on the sweatshirts and headed outside.
Of course, Noah just wanted to start tasting everything.. again...
He was really grossed out by the sand on his tongue... at first... then he seemed to be okay with it.
Emma really likes the ugly shells.. usually the uglier it is, the prettier she thinks it is...
Emma LOVES running around in the water as the tide ebbs and flows.. and...
her VERY most favorite thing is THROWING rocks. It's so funny to me, because Emma is such a girly girl, but she LOVES things that are very boy, boy, too... See how high she got that rock? Girl's gotta arm, I tell ya...

Look how dirty my boy got.... and he was totally loving the mouths full of sand... the slobber that was dripping out of his mouth was more sand than saliva...
And it's a good thing I really love when it rains at the beach, because that's about all it's done yesterday and today. It's so relaxing, though. I've gotten so much editing work done while we've been stuck inside. And there can't be anything more peaceful than a rainy day at the beach.
I love it.

I love all the soft colors you've done with these shots! Louis used to eat handfuls of sand and it grossed me out. I'm so surprised he didn't get some funky beach disease....

And no, we didn't get a manicure together, I just paint them all the time for her. She likes having her fingernails and toenails done. :) And I wish you were nearby so I could take pics of your gorgeous kids!!! That would be such a treat for me! :)
wow candace, these pics are AMAZING! i am so proud of you! you have done it all in such a short period of time, you should be super proud of yourself...i esp. love the one of emma where she is looking down at the sea shell or rock. it is amazing! hope you're enjoying your time at the beach. we are having a wonderful time here in the mountains, just a little cold!
i'm really annoyed that ur kids have fabulous clothes on and you call this "throwing on a sweatshirt". whatever. stop flaunting ur richness.
also, i'm startin to get itchy looking at ur kids in their clothes covered in sand and salt water. bleck. sand.
okay sorry. i shouldn't be so negative but ya know...lent IS over..soo...yea.
