A Few Hours With No Power

For absolutely no reason today our power went out for a few hours. So.. whatelse to do... take pictures!! Emma dressed herself first thing and she decided that today... she was Sleeping Beauty, I was Cinderella, and Noah was Prince Charm. Not Charming... just charm.

Doesn't she have skills as far as dressing herself? She loves these rainboots. She always wears them around the house as if they're slippers. She cracks me up!!

Noah was learning the art of multi-tasking...

Have you noticed I have a penchant for pictures of feet?

Noah got sleepy...

After we put Noah to sleep, Sleeping Beauty changed out of her dress and into her play clothes to go outside and play. Do you notice the uneasy look on her face? Want to know why she looks that way? There was a fly buzzing away above my head and she was petrified that it was going to bite her or me one. SUCH a girl!

Relaxing on the porch, I read Pottery Barn, Ballard Designs, and Family Fun magazines. Tearing out pictures of decorating ideas and craft ideas, while Marley stowed away under my feet on the porch because he could hear thunder off in the far distance. The dog is terrified of a storm.

Then, just as suddenly as it had flickered off, the power came back to life and back inside we came. One great thing about living on a farm is that we're not on city water, we have a well. So, when our power goes out, not only do we have no lights, no air conditioner, no phone, no internet... we also have NO WATER. And since up until this house, I have always lived in the "city", I ALWAYS forget it!!!

Sometimes I feel like I'm living in the woods, completely removed from civilization out here on this farm...
