Effort is What Matters.... Right???

Okay, so I got on the treadmill earlier and it was not going that great, so I kept chanting to myself in my head.... "Knees feel GREAT... knees feel GREAT... knees feel GREAT!" Katy, I know you advised me not to be a butt head and run through the pain, but you know.... sometimes I'm stubborn. I did take it easy today, though. I only ran 1.2 miles and walked farther than normal.. 1.5 miles. What really sucks about this, though, is that when I was walking, I was walking kind of slow to recover from the running part, because of the knee issue. It's great, though, because I can actually walk down the stairs like a 30 year old rather than an 80 year old! I swear, that's what I felt like when I got off Sunday night. I pushed myself waaay too hard, so today, I was more chill. That's good, right? It took me 42 minutes to do not even three miles, though! ugh! Whatever. At least I did burn some calories and got some exercise in.

Then I was starving, so I fixed a Healthy Choice meal. I fixed this in the hope of eating "healthy" and not wasting all that time I just spent burning calories on the treadmill. But.... Who the crap can eat this stuff and feel satisfied?!? I ate half of it and quit, because it was a complete waste of time. I'd honestly rather starve to death.

I'm so proud of you for sticking with this, I'm totally inspired! (Maybe I'll go for a run after I finish eating this Little Debbie...)

I have a really bad knee, and I don't know if this is what you want to hear, but I can get a better work out on my elliptical (more miles, more calories) than on a treadmill, and still walk when I'm done. How come you never use yours?

Way to keep going! I hear you on those stupid Healthy Choice meals, they are so unsatisfying and just make you want to eat the "real" version of whatever they are pretending to be.

hahah!! Oh if we lived closer I know we'd make very good friends!!! hahahah... well, my favorite 'butt head', you're totally amazing and i'm really impressed.... BUT don't forget that when you're really 80 years old... you NEED those KNEES!!!! Do some spinning classes or Netflix some good workout dvds (sweetness!!!) and be sure to ICE dem NEEEEZ!!!! Don't stop, you're on a roll- but it's gonna be a bitter pill to swallow if you're down and out for months rather than a week or two

aaaaand... that's all's i gots ta say 'bout that!!!

But really, you're awesome

i've typed this stupid comment out like freakin THREE times and i keep getting distracted and then my kids take over the puter and close this window. UGH. maybe it isn't meant to be said.

so i was thinking about ur knees and usually when my knee is hurting really bad when i run but i wanna keep on, i just raise the incline as high as it will go and walk at like a 3.5 pace. walking on an incline is actually better for your knees and it's extremely effective as far as weight loss.

are you getting annoyed with my workout tips yet? sorry. i get bombarded with all this crap from my lover because he's a workout FREAK so i just thought i'd share.

I hate those nasty healthy frozen meals. They taste horrible, and I usually get the runs from all the crap they put it in it that has no calories. YUCK! Next time you work your butt off, don't punish yourself with that nonsense. Reward yourself with one of those weight watchers frozen treats... they are so yummy! I can't tell the difference.

Anyway, I'm uber proud of you! Keep it up!
