Crazziness

So, you all know how Noah woke up with the stomach virus on Sunday... it led me to calling 911 when he started choking on his own vomit... Okay, I know... I hate that word... VOMIT... but, you're gonna have to bear with me if you're going to read this, because basically this whole post is about... VOMIT.

So, Noah's stomach has been torn up all week. It's still torn up, but luckily, today was the best day he's had in a while, since at least last Saturday, or so...

Not so much for Emma.

She woke up sick to her stomach yesterday and with a fever, but was still able to eat, she just randomly felt a little crampy.

Well, today, it was the same story, woke up feeling sick to her stomach and fevery. So, I gave her tylenol, she went back to bed.

Around noon, I had to get a prescription refilled and Emma was feeling better, so to Target we went. She was fine walking around in there, feeling spunky, browsing the DVDs, looking at pretty sparkly things, when we made our way to the infant section. Noah needed socks.

I grab 5 pairs of socks, round the corner, and she grabs her stomach.

"Oh, Mommy, my tummy hurts. It really hurts."

"Do you need to go to the bathroom?"

"Uh huh!" With a look of sick desperation, plastering her face, squinting her eyes up.

"Okay, can you walk?"

"Nuh uh"

"Okay, come here!" And with that, I picked her up, sat her on the bar of the shopping cart, legs wrapped around my torso, head on my shoulder, I started pushing the cart as quickly as I could toward the big bathroom by the pharmacy.

All of a sudden, I feel her whole body tense up, followed by a deep wretching sound, resonating from the pit of her stomach.

Then I heard it... the big splash on the floor right behind me.

So, I stopped. Put stood her on the ground and looked over my shoulder at the pile of VOMIT on the floor. I checked my shirt... CLEAN! Somehow, she had thrown up right over my shoulder, but hadn't gotten any at all on my back! Remarkable!

But then I hear it again, and I refocus.. back on my sick little lady... and she's standing in the middle of the aisle in the middle of Target, with fellow patrons walking by, GAWKING at us and she wretches and vomits over and over until her little tummy is completely empty of the chicken nuggets she had consumed on the car ride into town.

She was SO UPSET. She immediately starts apologizing, "I so sorry, Mommy, I didn't mean to. It's ALL MY FAULT!!!! My tummy really hurts." This is so my child, she's such a drama queen and she's always very concerned about making a mess or for that matter, messing up in any way.

So, as I'm standing there, wiping her face, shirt, pants, and shoes down with wipes to clean her up, and redirecting traffic away from the VOMIT, I'm frantically looking for any Target Team Member. And there is no one to be seen! I must've stood there pacing the area, comforting Emma for 5 minutes trying to prevent leaving the mess unattended, and God forbid, anyone slipping and falling into the grossness... YUCK!

Finally, I told the mothers who cared enough to stop and make sure Emma was okay and to try to help in any way they could that I had to get her to the bathroom and I left and on the way to the bathroom, I told a pharmacist what had happened, as I rushed Emma into the restroom.

She was in there for a while and was so worried that she had made a huge mess right in the middle of Target.

I just felt so sorry for her! OMG.. can you imagine? This has never happened to us before! I'm surprised, because when you have to throw up, it really is hard to hold it in, especially for a four year old.

So, we bought her a new shirt before we left and were on our way.

I am so ready for the sickness to leave our house. I know that the people at her pre-school probably think I'm either too lazy to bring her in or that I'm not happy with them, or something, because she's hardly been at all since Christmas. I keep telling them how sick we've all been, but after a while, people stop believing you. At least it feels that way....

OMG!!!! Poor Emma!!!! I hope she starts feeling better soon, but I have a feeling that it will take awhile for the "bug" to get out of your house for good. But lets just say, Emma does have some good vomiting skills! Thank goodness she didn't get it on your shirt. If I were with you though, I wouldn't of been much help...I would've of vomitted seeing her vomit. You know, me with my weak stomach right now and all.

Hope today is better for her!
